Las Cruces, NM (August 2, 2022) - A passenger was killed after being involved in a single-vehicle crash outside of Las Cruces on Saturday, July 30. The accident occurred on US-70 near Nasa Road.
Local reports revealed that a 2002 Chevrolet truck was headed west on the highway. The rear tire blew as the truck was exiting the highway, causing the vehicle to overturn. The 27-year-old male driver was treated at the scene by attending paramedics.
The passenger in the vehicle suffered fatal injuries in the crash. The deceased party was later identified as 25-year-old Odalis Aguilar Hernandez. Local reports indicate that alcohol was a factor in the crash.
An ongoing investigation into the deadly accident is underway.
