Santa Teresa, NM (August 2, 2022) - A 19-year-old has been charged in connection with a deadly rollover crash outside of Santa Teresa on Wednesday, July 27.
Local reports revealed that Julio Garcia Rascon of Juarez, Mexico was driving an SUV with nine passengers. Authorities attempted to stop Rascon at around 5 a.m., but he sped off. Rascon eventually crashed the vehicle, and two occupants were ejected.
Rascon was charged with two counts of homicide by vehicle. The deceased parties were identified as 24-year-old Jorge Garcia-Vazquez and 18-year-old Guadalupe Cruze-Vazquez, both of Mexico. All the occupants were hospitalized after the crash.
An ongoing investigation into the deadly accident is underway.
