Albuquerque, NM - Fatal Pedestrian Hit-&-Run at Del Rio Rd & Rio Bravo Blvd

Albuquerque, NM (February 28, 2021) - A pedestrian was fatally injured after being struck by a motor vehicle in Albuquerque at around 7:15 p.m on Saturday, February 27.

The crash in question occurred near the corner of Del Rio Road SW and Rio Bravo Boulevard SW. The victim suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. According to local reports, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the injured party.

The offending vehicle was described as a red Chevrolet Blazer. The sport-utility vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound on Rio Bravo Boulevard in the direction of Interstate 25. The identity of the deceased party has been withheld.

Officials are currently seeking information on the identity of the driver involved in the deadly crash. An ongoing investigation into the incident is underway.

We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.

Deadly Pedestrian Accidents in Albuquerque

2.28 Albuquerque, NM - Fatal Pedestrian Hit-&-Run at Del Rio Rd & Rio Bravo BlvdMany of those living in Albuquerque will travel by foot in order to get around. This can provide many health and environmental benefits, but it can also increase your risk of being seriously injured in a crash. There is little protecting a pedestrian from the full impact of a motor vehicle collision, and pedestrians are roughly 1.5 times more likely to be killed in an accident. In 2017, New Mexico had the highest pedestrian fatality rate in the country.

New Mexico wrongful death lawsuits are intended to compensate surviving family members when the negligent actions of another party cause the death of a loved one. Just because the victim died, that does not mean that the at-fault party should be off the hook. The defendant must instead pay compensation to the family members of the deceased after a deadly New Mexico pedestrian accident. This can only be accomplished by partnering with a law firm with years of experience helping victims pursue wrongful death claims.

Bringing a lawsuit is probably the last thing on your mind after losing a family member, but you do not have to pursue a claim on your own. Will Ferguson & Associates understands that no amount of compensation will bring back a loved one. Our legal team will fight to make sure that you recover the compensation you deserve after losing a loved one.  Call us today at (505) 243-5566 to discuss your case with a New Mexico wrongful death attorney
