Deming, NM (May 21, 2021) - A collision involving multiple semi-trucks in the Deming area resulted in the death of an El Paso man on Wednesday, May 19.

Local reports indicated that a 2018 international tractor-trailer driven by 33-year-old Steven Carpenter of El Paso was traveling east on Interstate 10. The parked vehicle then hit a fourth semi-truck. Carpenter sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. The operators of two of the other tractor-trailers were injured.

An ongoing investigation into the deadly accident is being managed by the New Mexico State Police.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of Steven Carpenter at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
