Tucumcari, NM (November 14, 2022) - Two were killed after a collision involving a motor vehicle and a train in the Tucumcari area on Friday, November 4.
The deadly crash was reported at the corner of US-54 and Quay County Road Ad at around 7 p.m. A 2007 Toyota Camry driven by 30-year-old Abraham Riquiac-Gonzalez was traveling north. It was hit by a westbound freight train as the vehicle crossed some railroad tracks near the scene.
The driver and his passenger, 38-year-old Pedro Jimon, were both killed in the crash. No other injuries were reported in the accident.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in progress.
