Jal, NM (November 14, 2022) - On Wednesday, November 9, an El Paso teen was killed and a truck driver was hurt after a vehicle collision outside of Jal.
The deadly accident was reported on NM-128 at around 5 a.m. It was reported that the driver of a 2019 Ford pickup truck headed east veered into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on with a commercial truck. The impact caused the tractor-trailer to hit a 2022 Ford pickup.
The driver of the 2019 Ford suffered fatal injuries in the crash. The deceased was later identified as 18-year-old Francisco Saenz Hinojos. The operator of the commercial truck was taken to Jal EMS for treatment.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress.
