Albuquerque, NM - Major Car Wreck on I-40 near Rio Grande Blvd

Albuquerque, NM (July 30, 2022) - A car crash happened in Albuquerque on the afternoon of July 29. At approximately 3:25 p.m., police, EMTs, and fire crews were sent to the scene of an auto accident on Interstate 40. 

Reports concerning the accident show that the incident happened on I-40 near Rio Grande Boulevard/Exit 157. One or more individuals suffered injuries in the collision for reasons still under police investigation. 

Traffic was backed up to Coors Road/Exit 155 while responders were in the area. At least one person was treated on-site and transported to local hospitals for treatment. 

Few details are currently available concerning the nature of the incident.
