Union Co, NM (July 13, 2021) - A rollover crash in Union County on Sunday, July 11, resulted in two fatalities and multiple injuries.
Local authorities were informed that the fatal accident occurred on US-64 in the Clayton area at around 6:35 a.m. that morning. Initial reports indicated that a 25-year-old man was driving a 1996 Toyota 4Runner westbound on the highway at the time of the incident. The SUV then left the roadway, entering the median.
When the vehicle re-entered the road, it overturned multiple times. Two occupants were ejected in the crash and suffered fatal injuries. The driver and three other passengers were injured following the accident. The identities of the involved parties have not been disclosed at this time.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
