Santa Fe, NM (July 13, 2021) - A local man was killed after being struck by an SUV on a highway outside of Sante Fe on Saturday, July 10.
Local reports from the New Mexico State Police indicated that the fatal accident occurred on Interstate 25 at around 10:42 p.m. that evening. Initial sources revealed that a 2012 Toyota Rav4 driven by a 58-year-old woman was traveling northbound on the highway. At that time, 48-year-old David Micheal Ryan of Santa Fe was walking along the road when he was hit by the vehicle.
Ryan sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by attending medical personnel. No injuries were reported to the driver or passenger of the Toyota. Charges are currently pending, and the identities of the other involved parties have not been provided at this time.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is being managed by local authorities.
