Torrance Co, NM - 20-Car Pileup with Critical Injuries on Interstate 40

Torrance Co, NM (March 24, 2021) - A multi-vehicle collision in Torrance County on Wednesday, March 24, resulted in critical injuries. 

The accident occurred early that morning at around 9:45 a.m. Initial reports revealed that the site was located on Interstate 40 near Clines Corners. According to the New Mexico State Police, a total of twenty vehicles were involved in the collision. 

First responders were called to the scene to provide aid to those involved. One victim at the scene reportedly sustained critical injuries. There were multiple other injuries reported, as well, but the number of injured parties has not been confirmed. 

The NMSP is currently handling the investigation into the cause of the accident.
