Deadly Hit-&-Run Crashes in New Mexico
Watching the driver depart the site of the accident is, sadly, not all that unusual and is the only thing more enraging than being in an accident that wasn't your fault. The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety found that more than one hit-and-run collision occurs on American roads every minute. Hit-and-run accidents happen when at least one party to the collision leaves the site without providing assistance or information to others affected. While hit-and-runs often involve two moving cars, they can also involve other vehicles, parked cars, motorbikes, pedestrians, bikers, and bicycles. Over 5% of traffic deaths were the result of hit-and-runs, and every year, there is an average growth of 7.2% Statistics show that nearly 20% of pedestrian crash fatalities were caused by vehicles that fled the scene.
