Portales, NM (January 26, 2023) - Seven people were injured following a crash involving a school bus and a commercial vehicle in the Portales area on Wednesday, January 25.
The collision took place on NM-235 near Roosevelt Road when a school bus reportedly failed to yield to a semi-truck that was hauling corn. At the time of impact, there were 17 students onboard the bus. Seven people involved were hurt and transported to a local hospital for treatment. One person was reportedly in critical condition.
No charges have been filed at this time, and no further information has been provided.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in progress.
