Albuquerque, NM (January 28, 2023) - Police in Albuquerque are currently investigating a fatal car crash that happened in the early morning hours of January 27. At approximately 3:00 a.m., Friday, emergency crews were dispatched to the crash scene on Dennis Chavez Boulevard.
Reports concerning the collision show it occurred on Dennis Chavez Boulevard between Unser Boulevard and 98th Street. A Hyundai was reportedly headed east on Dennis Chavez while a Buick Sedan was traveling west.
For unknown reasons, the two vehicles collided head-on. Authorities said the Hyundai’s driver lost their life at the scene. The Buick was discovered to be a stolen vehicle, and, the driver fled the scene after the collision.
What led to the accident remains under police investigation at this time.
