Albuquerque, NM - Major MVA on I-40 near NM State Road 333

Albuquerque, NM (December 24, 2022) - Police responded to a car crash on Friday morning, December 23 on an interstate in far east Albuquerque. Information provided by the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office shows the accident happened on Interstate 40. 

Responders were sent to the crash scene to render aid shortly after the accident occurred. The westbound lanes of the interstate were impacted near mile marker 70 and State Road 333 near Carnuel. 

Officials with the BCSO arrived at the scene at around 10:40 a.m. At this time, few details are available concerning the collision. All westbound traffic was forced into one lane while the crash scene was active with responders.

At least one person was in need of emergency medical care on-site. Paramedics treated injured parties and transported them to local hospitals as necessary.  

By approximately 11:43 a.m., the scene was cleared by emergency crews and the roadway was reopened. Authorities continue to investigate the details of the accident.
