New Mexico Car Wrecks

Albuquerque, NM - Major Car Wreck on 4th St near Montano RdIn New Mexico, tens of thousands of people sustain serious injuries every year due to auto accidents. Some of the injuries that result from car wrecks in the Land of Enchantment are so severe that victims end up having to spend prolonged periods of time in the hospital in order to recover. Victims are often unable to work and are stuck in the hospital where they have to undergo invasive and exhausting medical procedures. This is a difficult experience for anyone to have to go through.

Oftentimes, those who are hurt in auto accidents are injured by the actions of negligent drivers. Some common injuries that often result from auto collisions include whiplash, broken bones, neck/back injuries, spinal cord injuries, and brain injuries. Issues such as herniated discs are also common. Symptoms can include numbness, weakness, and pain.

Head injuries often result from auto collisions. These can range from concussions to more severe brain injuries that can affect a person for the rest of their life. Head injuries can have symptoms like headache, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, memory loss, and changes in behavior or mood.

Broken bones also result frequently from auto crashes. Some of the more common fractures that occur are in the legs and arms, but any bone can break if the force of the impact is severe enough. Broken bones are often extremely painful and result in bruising, swelling, and difficulty moving the affected area.

Depending on the circumstances of your collision, you may be legally eligible to collect financial compensation. This can help you move forward financially in the aftermath of your collision. It is vital to understand your legal rights when you’re hurt by the actions of a negligent driver.

When it comes to auto accidents, New Mexico is a ‘fault’ state. This means that the individual responsible for the collision is responsible for the damages that result from the accident. The at-fault driver’s insurance company will provide the victim with compensation to pay for damages up to the policy limit. If the at-fault driver is without insurance at the time of the crash, or if the victim’s damages cost more than the policy allows, the victim can file a personal injury claim against the at-fault driver in order to recover compensation for damages.

After sustaining serious injuries in an auto crash, this type of legal claim can help you, the injured victim, secure the full and fair financial compensation that can help pay for some or all of the damages you may be facing in the aftermath of your accident. You may need help paying for medical care, vehicle repairs, wage loss, and more. A car accident lawyer in Albuquerque can help you better understand your rights moving forward.
