Santa Rosa, NM (July 27, 2022) - Two Oklahoma residents were killed following a crash with a tractor-trailer in Santa Rosa on Tuesday, July 26.
The deadly accident took place on Interstate 40 at around 8:40 a.m. Local sources revealed that 67-year-old Stephen Barnes and 69-year-old Susan Barnes were traveling eastbound in a Nissan Sentra. At that time, a 2017 Freightliner was headed west when it crossed the center line and crashed head-on with the Sentra.
Both occupants suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. The operator of the truck was also injured and hospitalized for treatment.
An ongoing investigation into the deadly crash is underway.
