Authorities report that the Hermits Peak/Calf Canyon fire is over 90% contained as of Monday, June 27. What's more, authorities indicate that containment has increased to 92% thanks mostly to suppression efforts by firefighters and monsoonal rainfall. The Camino Real Ranger District on the Carson National Forest and the Pecos/Las Vegas Ranger District on the Santa Fe National Forest will remain closed while crews continue suppression repair efforts across the entire fire region.

Firefighters continue to repair fences and roadways damaged by suppression operations in Mora, Holman, Guadalupe, and Chacon, along NM Highways 518 and 434, and in other places.
