Deadly Pedestrian Crashes in New Mexico
Pedestrians are more susceptible to road hazards, which increases their risk of serious injury in car accidents. In New Mexico, pedestrians and motorists frequently cross paths on the road. Since 2016, the state has had the country's highest rate of pedestrian deaths. Pedestrian fatalities are on the rise in the United States, with pedestrians 1.5 times more likely than passengers in passenger cars to die in a car accident.
There is little protecting a pedestrian from the full impact of a serious accident. This means that traffic accidents involving pedestrians often result in severe to life-threatening injuries. In the event of a collision, pedestrians are vulnerable to suffering from life-changing injuries and other damages, including medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other losses. These accidents are known to result in life-changing and even fatal injuries. In some cases, injured parties can recover lost compensation with the help of a qualified Albuquerque car accident lawyer and hold the party liable for the crash responsible for resulting damages. This is sometimes the only option to obtain the full value of their claim.
