Albuquerque, NM (December 13, 2021) - A man was injured and his son killed after being hit by a car while attending the River of Lights in Albuquerque on Sunday evening, December 12. The incident occurred at the crossing of Central Avenue and Tingley Drive at around 8:30 p.m.
A large group of people were crossing southbound at Central Avenue when the driver of an ATV ran a red light. The driver hit the father and his child as they crossed the road. The child was dragged at the scene and sustained fatal injuries in the crash. The father was transported to a local hospital for the treatment of serious injuries.
The suspect driver fled the scene headed westbound. Local authorities are currently searching for more information.
