Albuquerque, NM - Bus Driver Injured After Passenger Causes Crash on I-40

Albuquerque, NM (December 7, 2021) - A bus driver and several passengers were injured following a traffic accident in Albuquerque on Sunday evening, December 5. The incident was reported on Interstate 40 near 12th Street.

A total of 25 people were on board at the time of the crash. Local reports revealed that 52-year-old Leroy Maass of Washington was involved in an altercation with another passenger on the bus. The altercation ended with Maass grabbing the steering wheel, causing the bus to crash. The driver and five passengers on the bus were injured in the accident. Maass is currently facing charges related to the incident. 

An ongoing investigation into the accident is being handled by local law enforcement officials.
