Albuquerque, NM (October 1, 2021) - An early morning hit-and-run resulted in a fatality in the Albuquerque area on Thursday, September 30.
The crash occurred at the crossing of Vail Avenue SE and Girard Boulevard SE near Sunport. Emergency responders were called to the scene at around 4 a.m. that morning. A pedestrian was reportedly crossing east on Girard Boulevard when they were hit by an older model gray sedan.
The at-fault driver fled the scene of the accident. The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Local authorities are currently seeking information on the driver involved in the deadly accident.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fatal crash is currently underway.
