Roswell, NM - Alvino Villa Dies in Rollover Crash on US-285

Roswell, NM (August 25, 2021) - A Texas man was killed and others seriously injured following a rollover crash in Roswell on Tuesday, August 24. 

The deadly accident occurred on US-285 just north of the city. Emergency responders were sent to the scene at around 7 a.m. that morning. Local reports revealed that a 30-year-old Midland man was driving a 2021 Mazda CX-5 SUV southbound on the highway. 

The vehicle reportedly hit a guardrail and left the roadway. The Mazda overturned multiple times. Five people were reportedly inside the vehicle at the time of the crash. 

Local sources revealed that 20-year-old Alvino Villa of Midland and a 13-year-old were ejected from the vehicle. Villa was pronounced dead at the scene. The teen was airlifted to a hospital in Lubbock in serious condition. The driver and two other passengers were transported to a Roswell hospital for treatment. 

No further updates on the collision have been provided at this time. An ongoing investigation is underway.
