Albuquerque, NM - Critically Injuries After Driver Runs Sign on Washington St

Albuquerque, NM (August 8, 2021) - A driver was charged with driving while intoxicated following a crash with critical injuries in Albuquerque on Saturday, August 7. 

Local reports revealed that the incident occurred near the intersection of Washington Street NE and Constitution Avenue NE. At around 12 p.m., two vehicles reportedly collided after the operator of a van ran a stop sign. The 1995 Chevrolet van crashed into the left side of a 2004 Mercury sedan. 

The driver of the sedan sustained critical injuries and was transported to the University of New Mexico Hospital for treatment. The driver of the van showed signs of intoxication and was arrested for DWI. The identities of the involved parties have not been released at this time. 

An ongoing investigation into the crash is underway.
