Santa Fe Co, NM (July 24, 2021) - An Albuquerque man was killed after being hit by a motor vehicle on a highway in Sante Fe County on Friday, July 23.
The deadly crash reportedly occurred on NM-14 at around 12:28 a.m. that morning. The New Mexico State Police revealed that a 24-year-old woman was driving a 1990 Mazda Miata on the highway as she traveled northbound. Local sources confirmed that 29-year-old Robert Maestas was on the highway and was struck by the oncoming vehicle.
Emergency responders were called to the scene to provide aid to the injured party. Maestas sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, despite life-saving measures from paramedics. Neither the driver nor her passenger, a 29-year-old woman, were injured in the crash. No charges have been filed at this time.
