18-Wheeler Accidents in New Mexico
According to national accident data, smaller car passengers are more likely to suffer fatal injuries in the case of a collision involving a commercial truck. Trucking accidents kill tens of thousands of people every year. In 2018, 4,119 individuals died in 18-wheeler crashes, with passengers accounting for about 67 percent of those fatalities. Every 15 seconds, someone is killed or badly injured in a tractor-trailer or semi-truck collision. In New Mexico, one out of every 35 semi-truck accidents is likely to result in fatality. Around 25% of fatal 18-wheeler accidents include truckers who had been ticketed for a previous speeding violation prior to the occurrence.
