Roswell, NM (June 10, 2021) - A two-vehicle crash ended in fatality outside of Roswell on Tuesday, June 8.
According to the New Mexico State Police, 76-year-old Trinidad V. Loya was operating an all-terrain vehicle while traveling on Country Club Road. At around 5 p.m. that night, Loya entered the intersection at Relief Route when he was hit by a commercial motor vehicle. First responders were called to the scene to render aid to the injured party.
Loya sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The 51-year-old man operating the semi was not injured in the accident. Alcohol was not believed to have played a role in the deadly accident.
An ongoing investigation into the incident is underway.
