Roswell, NM (June 23, 2021) - A multi-vehicle accident involving a commercial truck resulted in several injuries outside of Roswell on Monday, June 21.
The collision occurred on US-289 near mile marker 128 at around 7 .m. that morning. Local reports revealed that a Dodge pickup towing a trailer was traveling north on the highway as they attempted to slow down, setting off a chain-reaction collision. The pickup was then hit by a following semi-truck.
The debris resulting from the impact was then hit by two pickup trucks and a passenger car. These vehicles proceeded to leave the roadway. According to the New Mexico State Police, the area was closed for several hours. Two involved parties were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
