Las Cruces, NM (June 5, 2021) - A driver and cow were injured following a car crash in the Las Cruces area on Thursday, June 3.
Local reports indicated that the crash occurred on US-70 near Mesa Grande Drive. A driver was traveling on the highway when a cow entered the path of their vehicle. The vehicle and the animal collided, causing both the driver and cow to be injured.
The owner of the animal told authorities that the cow escaped due to someone cutting his fence. The owner’s property was located roughly five miles from the scene. The driver was injured in the crash, and the cow had to be put down.
The investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
