Las Cruces, NM (June 26, 2021) - A motorcyclist was left with critical injuries in the aftermath of a collision in Las Cruces on Friday, June 25.
The accident reportedly occurred at the intersection of Amador Avenue and Campo Street that afternoon near the time of 1:15 p.m. When emergency responders arrived, they found the rider lying on the roadway. According to initial reports, the motorcyclist was crossing the intersection and had a green light at the time of the crash.
It was at this time that the driver of a Honda ran a red light, striking the rider. The motorcyclist was ejected from his bike and transported to University Medical Center in El Paso for the treatment of critical injuries. The other driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. The identities of the involved parties have not been released at this time.
No further updates have been provided at this time. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is underway. More information will be provided as the inquiry continues.
