Clovis, NM - Gillian Sweeney Killed by Driver at Llano Estacado Blvd & MLK Jr Blvd

Clovis, NM (May 31, 2021) - An elderly woman was killed after a driver crashed into her Clovis apartment on Saturday, May 29. 

The deadly accident reportedly took place at the intersection of W. Llano Estacado Boulevard and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The incident occurred at around 11 p.m. that evening, according to the Clovis Police Department. Local reports indicated that a Ford Fusion drove through the wall of 74-year-old Gillian Sweeney’s apartment. 

The 21-year-old driver entered the bedroom where they hit Sweeney. The injured party sustained critical injuries and was later pronounced dead. The identity of the at-fault driver has not been revealed at this time. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is underway.
