Artesia, NM - UPDATE: Thomas Wade Frazier Killed in Semi Crash on US-285

Artesia, NM (May 22, 2021) - The identity of the officer killed in a fatal truck accident in Artesia has been revealed by local authorities. 

On Friday, May 21, local reports revealed that 47-year-old Corporal Thomas Wade Frazier of the New Mexico State Police sustained fatal injuries after being involved in a crash with a semi-truck. Frazier was traveling on US-285 when he was rear-ended by the 18-wheeler. 

Frazier sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead by attending medical personnel. The 20-year-old Dexter man operating the big rig was not injured in the crash. No further updates on the deadly collision have been provided at this time. 

Local authorities are managing the ongoing investigation into the crash.
