Albuquerque, NM - UPDATE: Jennifer Munoz Arrested Related to Fatal DUI Crash

Albuquerque, NM (May 30, 2021) - Local authorities have taken a woman into custody in connection with a deadly DUI collision in Albuquerque last Sunday, May 23. 

The fatal crash occurred at the intersection of Tower Road and Unser Boulevard. Sources revealed that 28-year-old Jennifer Munoz was traveling at 89 miles per hour in a 35-mph speed zone at the time of the accident. Munoz reportedly ran a red light at the intersection, colliding with another vehicle. 

The driver of the other car, identified as 41-year-old Janell Katesigwa, was killed in the impact. Authorities found bottles of alcohol and a container of THC inside Munoz's vehicle following the fatal collision. The at-fault driver was taken to Metropolitan Detention Center after being released from the hospital. 

An ongoing investigation into the accident is underway.

  1. Thank you for posting this. Janell was a wonderful person. She dearly loved her children and husband. She supported her children in their endeavors. Her goal was to see them grown and well educated. Because of a senseless accident, she will not see the fruits of her labors.
