Albuquerque, NM - Deadly Trucking Accident at I-40 & San Mateo Blvd

Albuquerque, NM (May 3, 2021) - A two-vehicle collision in Albuquerque involving a semi-truck resulted in a fatality on Sunday, May 2. 

The fatal accident took place early that morning and was reported at around 4:36 a.m. Emergency responders were called to the scene at the intersection of Intersection 40 WB and San Mateo Boulevard. The driver of a passenger car was killed in the accident. 

A driver was reportedly traveling on the highway when they collided with the rear of a semi-truck. The victim sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The site was closed for several hours while investigators and paramedics were present. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly accident is underway.
