Taos Co, NM - Double Fatality Crash Reported on NM-68

Taos Co, NM (April 4, 2021) - Two people were killed in a deadly vehicle collision in Taos County on Saturday, April 3. 

The accident reportedly occurred on NM-68, just north of Pilar. Officials from the New Mexico State Police and Taos County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene. The area was closed when emergency responders arrived, causing significant delays on the highway. 

Two of the vehicles were reportedly on fire when paramedics arrived. Two people were killed in the crash, and three others, including a child, were hospitalized. Initial reports revealed that two vehicles collided head-on after one car crossed the centerline on the roadway. 

A third vehicle was also involved, but none of the occupants sustained injuries. 

An ongoing investigation into the deadly accident is underway.
