Mountainair, NM - Martina Pulido-Baca Killed in Head-On Crash on US-60

Mountainair, NM (April 3, 2021) - A head-on collision outside of Mountainair resulted in the death of a Belen woman on Thursday, April 1. 

According to local sources, the fatal accident occurred at around 12:30 p.m. on US-60. A minivan driven by 65-year-old Martina Pulido-Baca was traveling eastbound on the highway at the time of the crash. For unknown reasons, Pulido-Baca crossed the centerline of the roadway, colliding head-on with a vehicle driven by a 70-year-old Mountainair man. 

Pulido-Baca was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle and his passenger sustained undisclosed injuries and were hospitalized for treatment. No further information on the fatal wreck is currently available. 

The New Mexico State Police is managing the ongoing crash investigation.
