Each year, speeding contributes to more than 25% of traffic fatalities in the United States. In 2018, a total of 9,378 people lost their lives in high-speed crashes. That means nearly 25 people were killed daily by speeding drivers that year.
Car crashes in New Mexico are caused by a variety of roadway hazards, such as poor driving, excessive speed, unsafe road conditions, poor truck maintenance, road construction, and inadequate signage.
