Lordsburg, NM - UPDATE: Adam Shoof, Dillon Rice Injured in New Mexico Plane Crash

Lordsburg, NM (March 26, 2021) - The identities of two Fulshear police officers injured in a plane crash outside of Lordsburg on Wednesday, March 24, have been released by local authorities. 

The plane was reported to be en route to California from Texas at the time of the accident. Officer Adam Shoof was reportedly operating the craft when it crashed into a mountain range in southwestern New Mexico. Shoof was experiencing issues landing when the airplane made an emergency landing. 

Shoof and another officer, Dillon Rice, were rescued from the wreckage by emergency responders, a process that took almost four hours. Both officers were transported to a medical facility in El Paso where they remain in serious condition. A third person on board reportedly sustained injuries, as well. 

An ongoing investigation into the crash is underway.
