Albuquerque, NM - Pedestrian Critically Injured in Crash at Coal Ave & 3rd St

Albuquerque, NM (February 4, 2021) - A pedestrian suffered critical injuries after being struck by a motor vehicle in Albuquerque on Thursday morning, February 4. 

The accident occurred at the intersection of Coal Avenue and 3rd Street. The injured pedestrian was reportedly struck by a driver who fled the scene of the accident. The identity of the injured party has not been revealed at this time. 

The injured pedestrian was transported to the University of New Mexico Hospital for the treatment of critical injuries. Local authorities were able to locate the driver involved in the accident near the scene. A driving while intoxicated investigation is currently underway. 

Local law enforcement officials are conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash.
